History

The Center for Public Policy, established in 2003, is actively involved in training and educational projects. Between December 1 and December 21, 2003, the CPVP prepared and provided a number of trainings about EU Structural Policy and use of EU Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund for officials of the Czech Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

Since January 2011, Center for Public Policy is creating and implementing methodology of work with risk group children in nursery and primary schools in Vysocina and Olmouc county. The project is funded from the European Social Fund. For more information please see www.prevence.cpvp.cz.

In the period 2006-2008, Center for Public Policy implemented projects focused on "Training in the Area of Crime Prevention and Social Inclusion of Youth". The projects were funded by the European Social Fund, the Czech National Budget and the Municipality of Prague and were being implemented in partnership with the Institute of Criminology and Social Prevention in Prague and Professor Tim Hope, Department of Criminology, Keele University, UK.

Two years later, in 2006, the Center launched a new project: Summer School on Crime, Law and Psychology(CLP), organized in cooperation with professors from the University of Aberdeen and Warwick University, UK. Since that time CLP brought together over 300 outstanding students from the USA, UK and Europe.

In spring 2004, the Center launched the European Spring Institute on the Future of Europe: Lobbying in Brussels(ESI). Since that time, the Center has organized Spring and Summer Sessions on EU Lobbying. To date, ESI has invited over 600 students from renown universities all over the world to discuss the issues of the Future EU and Lobbying.

Our recent projects include: Summer School on Cultural Dimensions of Politics in Europe (2007) and Summer School on China launched the summer 2011.
