Marcel Tomášek is a lecturer in sociology in the School of Social Studies, Masaryk University, Brno. He also serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Public Policy. Mr. Tomášek was a visiting fellow at the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies (New School University in New York) in the fall of 2000. He received an MA in Sociology from Central European University (Warsaw), and an MA in Politics and History from Palacký University (Olomouc, the Czech Republic). He also studied at Aarhus University (Denmark) and Miami University (Ohio). His research interests touch extensively on the issue of transformation in Central/Eastern Europe (CEE) in regards to European integration (illegal economy, corporate governance and banking sector - forms of state capture in CEE). Egle Havrdová, Ph.D., Executive Director

Egle serves as an executive director at the Center for Public Policy since its foundation 2003. In November 2004, Egle Havrdová defended her PhD. thesis in the Department of Social Policy, Institute for Sociological Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. From 2004 to 2005, she was a Marie Curie Fellow at the Department of Criminology, Keele University, UK. Her research interests include youth crime control policy design and implementation, evaluation, and dialogue between academics and practitioners in the field. In addition to her academic work, Egle has explicit experience in program management (Fund for American Studies, Washington, USA). In 2002, she served as NCP, Senior Specialist for Knowledge Society and Mobility, European Commission FP6 in Lithuania.

Anca Covrig, Program Coordinator

Anca Covrigová studied Sociology in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and has an MA in Economy and Society awarded by the Lancaster University. Her main focus during the doctoral studies at the Graduate School for Social Research in Warsaw, Poland, was on interethnic relations and interethnic conflict. She took part at a series of conferences organized by VŠE in Prague, as well as the Masaryk University, Brno.

Ing. David Zapletalek, Program Coordinator

David has recently finished Public Administration and Regional Development studies at the Czech Agricultural University in Prague.He enjoys playing sports, especially tennis and squash. He also loves street dance and tourism.
